Not to be the kind of person who updates with pointless and artibrary nonsense while the world is falling apart... but holy heck, a day with sunshine and a temperature above 0°? I was truly starting to think I'd never see such a thing again.

We take what tiny joys and pleasures we can these days, and honestly, right now, this feels like a pretty big one.

Oh no it's fine to update with things that aren't about the world falling apart. I love that sort of post because it distracts me from thinking about the world.

We had 40 days of rain since 1st January, I was starting to think Noah would be arriving with an ark! But now we've had a few days of sun and blue skies. Spring is here, thank goodness.

That's a lot of rain! We've mostly just had heavy snow -- the actual snowfall comes and goes, but it's been so cold, once it lands it sticks around for weeks. Seeing the actual ground again is a novel experience!

I swear, sometimes spring comes on so suddenly, it's like someone just flipped a switch.

It's been awful and they have been cutting down big trees lately so the trees haven't been there to suck up the floodwater. It'll only get worse next time it rains a lot.

Oh it's depressing when snow sticks around isn't it. We so rarely get snow here that people get excited when we do, but not when it hangs around because in the south of England we're not equipped to cope wit it.

It does! All the birdies singing and the little flowers blooming. My favourite season.

Oh, yeah. I grew up over there, so you can imagine it took some adjustment to suddenly living in a country where being hip-deep in snow is completely unremarkable. It doesn't disrupt things here the way it does there, but it can be a chore to crawl through it... especially when you're short!

Fingers crossed it doesn't get too rainy for you in the coming season... or at least that they plant some more trees before they do.

Yes that's a big change! I'm short so I understand the difficulty of walking through deep snow, argh!

Thanks, the next severe rains should be autumn but with Britain, who knows? It can rain any time. I'm thankful that we've had a week of sun and blue skies recently, it's a relief 😊
